To my fellow Disney dreamers… 🌟 I just had to share about the most magical family vacation we just enjoyed — our cruise on the Disney Wish!
If you’ve sailed on the Disney Dream before (like we had!), get ready to be seriously wowed by everything the Wish has to offer.
It was the perfect way to celebrate our son’s 7th birthday, and Disney made every single moment unforgettable. We boarded the Wish with high expectations, but Disney being Disney, they managed to surpass every one of them. From the moment we stepped onto the ship, it felt like we were in a floating fairytale. ✨
Birthday Magic at Sea 🎉
Our trip was all about celebrating Cam turning seven — and let me tell you, the Disney Wish knows how to make a kid feel like royalty. On his actual birthday, he got to do something totally unique: biking over the water on Castaway Cay! Yup — Disney’s private island has a special bike rental option that allows you to pedal on the water with crystal-clear views all around.
Back on board, the Inside Out: Joyful Sweets shop was a dream come true. He got a Mickey-shaped chocolate cupcake (so rich and perfect!) complete with a cute faux birthday candle — no fire at sea, but the magic was definitely there.
Dinner with a Super Twist 🕸️
One of the biggest highlights for him (and okay, for us too) was the Marvel-themed dinner at Worlds of Marvel. Halfway through our meal, Spiderman himself made an appearance, walking right up to our table. Cam even got a quick chat and a superhero fist bump. I snapped a photo but missed the best moment, LOL! Mom life. 🙂
Wish vs. Dream – What’s the Difference?
Having sailed the Disney Dream before, I was curious how the Wish would compare. Honestly? It’s like comparing two amazing Disney parks — same magic, different flavors. The Wish feels a bit more elegant and whimsical, with new restaurants, reimagined staterooms, and a ton of fresh experiences. The layout is different, but after a day or two, it felt like home.
My personal favorite themed Wish experience was The Bayou bar and live music venue, since my husband and I are from Louisiana so we love anything from the Bayou State. The beignets were delicious and authentic!
If you’re a Disney Cruise Line fan (or if you’re thinking about your first one), I can’t recommend the Wish enough — especially for celebrating a birthday or family milestone. The attention to detail, the cast members, the food, the entertainment… it’s all next-level.
From start to finish, this was more than just a vacation — it was a memory-making adventure we’ll treasure forever. 💖
